Director's Description to School's Approach to Discipline
Time out only. Children may be sent to director's office for conference.
Aggressive behavior policy (3 strike rule)
-- 1st time: in-school discipline
-- 2nd time: removal from class (max of 2 weeks)
-- 3rd time: dismissal from school
All discipline issues are handled case by case and with input from teacher, parents, director, and if old enough, the student.
Director's Response to a Sample Discipline Scenario
Description of how teachers handle the following scenario: Child A and Child B are good friends and usually play together. One day, Child A decides to play with Child C and tells Child B, 'I don't want to play with you today. I'm playing with Child C instead.'
Our teachers would reassure Child B and actively assist in finding another playmate or activity for Child B. We would also later speak with Child A privately about their actions and also encourage Child B to talk about their feelings with Child A.
