Parents at this school, on average, believe that conflicts between children:
...are handled extraordinarily well in a way that not only gives me confidence in the safety of my child but also reassures me that my child (and his/her peers) are learning the early skills needed to socialize effectively with one another

Director's Description to School's Approach to Discipline
The Montessori philosophy of discipline is to guide your child to self-discipline. We do this by modeling and discussing appropriate behavior, offering children choices when their behavior becomes unsafe and having meaningful, natural consequences directly related to the child's actions.
With positive guidance as our objective, each inappropriate and/or unsafe action is considered on an individual basis.
Director's Response to a Sample Discipline Scenario
Description of how teachers handle the following scenario: Child A and Child B are good friends and usually play together. One day, Child A decides to play with Child C and tells Child B, 'I don't want to play with you today. I'm playing with Child C instead.'
If Child B is upset, they would be invited to use words to let Child A know how that felt. A teacher might then help Child B notice the other friends and/or toys they could play with.
Parents' Notes on Discipline, Health and Safety
Parent #1
Conflict between children was dealt with fairly.
Parent #2
The playground has hardly anything on it. This was o.k. at first but I would expect to begin to see things added. This has not happened. Again the children look bored even when they are outside.
Parent #3
Its a great space for kids. But the adults and lack of CERTIFIED teachers are the real problem.
Parent #4
There is not adequate climbing structures, and the structures provided are not Montessori based.
Parent #5
It is a new school and they are working on their play areas. Right now there are just a few items for the toddler classroom that my daughter is in.
