The main rule is "be kind," which translates to being kind to other kids, the teachers, the classroom, the animals, the environment, etc. My daughter responds very well to this. Now, if she's acting out at home (much less since school started) I ask her, "are you being kind?" and she can usually snap out of it quickly. She has learned that there are consequences for her behavior, and that she can't always be first. I really feel the discipline is just right at the school, neither too lax or too heavy-handed.
