Parents' Comments
Parent #1
This is not a sit at desks and do worksheets school. This is a developmental curriculum with a lot of free choice activities and a lot of physical play. However, there is a definite curriculum with literacy, numeric skills, science, multi-cultural components designed to engage the children and show them that learning is fun and exciting. They do a great job keeping this spark alive so they are eager to go on to kindergarten and beyond to learn more and more.
Parent #2
Pacific Oaks is mainly unstructured free play and child-directed during the younger years, with specific teacher-led instruction in art and music that is elective. As students progress through Pacific Oaks, the curriculum becomes more structured and teacher-facilitated. That being said, the students partner with their teachers in guiding the day's activities and curriculum.
