Director's Comments
Our 'Dance and Jingle' music program is lead by a wonderful music therapist. She tells and sings stories involving the children with rhythm instruments, singing and movement. After each music session, she relays information about the children's achievements and concerns to each teacher.
Parents' Comments
Parent #1
I really like LCFCC preschool in that it is not a "pushy" school in terms of making the children meet certain skill requirements. It is not what I would call an "alternative" school but very much a traditional preschool which is exactly what I was looking for. It is a loving, safe school that gives children a chance to learn through directed play. I like that it teaches the children social skills (how to line up, how to share, how to take turns, how to clean up). I think that preschool should be two things: creating a life-long love of school and the educational process, and learning the social skills necessary to perform well in kindergarten. Having said this, I believe LCFCC is the perfect place for my children.

The children pick activities to engage themselves in during class time and there are 2 -3 teachers in the room to help and encourage the activities. There are also many teacher led activities such as rug time for stories and discussions as well as cooking or other projects. The balance of free time and teacher-led instruction is well thought out.

Wise Words to Remind You to Watch the Amazing Show of Childhood
One of the most dog-eared and spine-cracked books on our Savvy Parenting Shelf is Wendy Mogel's The Blessing of a Skinned Knee . This month's look at the big picture of parenting and childhood prompted yet another return to the wisdom in Dr. Mogel's pages:
