Savvy Source's Comments
That means that the teachers plan activities for the children to engage in and that there is a daily schedule, as well as monthly themes. Every day children have the opportunity to have free play, circle time, story time, activity time, and meet with some of our specialists. What being teacher-directed means at Claremont is that the children do not engage in free play all morning. We believe that children like structure and like having adults plan activities for them to engage in.

Parents' Comments
Parent #1
Curriculum primarily teacher led. However there are several times throughout the day when many of the skills taught by teachers are also bolstered in a more free form and child-directed manner, in periods (for the 4 year-olds) such as Choice Time, Center Time and Rest/Reading time.
Parent #2
Claremont has a lot of 'specials' and fantastic specialists that lead them. These include music, science, art in a huge art room which is in addition to classroom art, yoga, gymnastics and library once a week
