I do not feel that these categories are appropriate for our Montessori classroom. The approach at our preschool is for the teachers to give lessons introducing a subject, and then the children work quite independently to master it. The older children also assist and work with the younger children, since the children are aged 3-6.

Because this is a traditional Montessori school, many of these choices were not on target since they have very specific materials that address specific areas of development. I would highly enourage any parent interested in this school to come in and observe the classroom to better understand the curriculum.
