Director's Comments

We believe that children learn best through free play, but that some structure is helpful. We provide structure through targeted teacher encouragement, play stations, etc. There is a formal structure to our curriculum, but children move through it at their own pace, receiving guidance when needed.

Other subjects taught Because we are church-based preschool, we do have a Bible curriculum that is integrated with our age-appropriate thematic units. We have daily Bible times teaching the weekly story in a variety of ways using a variety of props such as puppets, story boards and books. We reinforce our Christian values through Bible-based songs and prayers.

Director's Comments

We believe in children learning through play first and foremost. However, the teacher plays an important and intregal role in every classroom. The teacher sets the 'stage' for learning through play by introducing the theme, related props and learning materials. Most activities are introduced/taught by the lead teacher then overseen by the teacher and assistants.

Parents' Comments

Parent #1
There is a good age-appropriate balance between teacher-led instruction and free play with structure. Sometimes the kids are in centers, sometimes there is a little lesson first, then they are in centers. All involve a lot of movement, and creative activities for the kids to learn and express themselves.

Parent #2
My children may be too young for some of these things to apply exactly.

Parent #3
Some topics are covered through lessons with activities. When my child brings home paperwork at the end of the week, I can see the art projects and other topics that have been covered. In addition, during the school year, we receive a weekly list of themes covered, activities, songs, etc.
