Director's Comments
All children do not learn the same way, so we do not teach all children the same way. We teach weekly themes as well as a new Culture each month. We teach our subjects by using hands on materials, pictures, books, music art and food. Some children need or want more structure than others, so we will meet their needs with the appropriate materials. Other children need more open space to explore and touch so we will offer music and dance. We do our grouptimes, inside as well as outside under a tree on a sunny day. Everyday, we will start our grouptimes off the same with the day of the week, what kind of weather, our name game song, the month song and than introduce 1 or 2 new songs. After our singing, we will continue to review what we have previously talked about than expand more on it and read our story. After grouptime, we will follow up with an art project which is related to our theme. We also have ready available themed related activities and games available for the children of their own free choosing.

| Other subjects taught | We teach Healthy begiinings at our school along with the regular curriculum. Healthy Beginnings is healthy choices regarding healthy foods and healthy living through Physical education. We also do Raising a Reader in our school. We send home a new book bag each week with four books for the parents to read with their child. The following week they return them to receive a new book bag. The children absolutely love it. | |||||

Being Savvy Today
My Year of Giving Thanks
A year is such a strange thing. It's hard to define, other than to say that it's (generally) 365 days long, or to assign some notion of time to it. Yet, the truth is, so much happens in a year that all those events and experiences seem enough for
Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?
What school type is right for your child? Is one model better than another? What does the research say?

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Trace around your child's foot, with shoe on, on a piece of white construction paper or card stock. Have child cut out the shoe print and add a spooky face. Glue it to a popsicle stick and you have a ghost stick puppet!
