Director's views on diversity:
We teach a new Culture each month. We read stories, look at pictures, watch a "kid" movie, look at clothing and eat food from the Culture we are learning. The children find similarieties and differences on their own.
Our belief of any curriculum is that all children will be encouraged to be participants in our program. By being participants, the children will learn that we are all different and may have different ideas than perhaps the child next to them. Encouraging children to not be afraid to ask questions will help build their self-confidence so that they will be successful in their choices.
