Word on the Street

The structure itself is an amazing thing to behold - in size and build - and your children will likely find it impressive.  Take a trip inside and ogle at Athena, Goddess of War. Her size makes you believe she could, and just might, stomp you flat (she is over 41' tall!).  Of course, nothing that shiny can be all bad, right?  What an impressive figure she strikes!

To view fine works of art, make your way to the galleries.  This is, of course, not tolerated long by most toddlers, but the older of the group may find it interesting.  To keep younger children engaged, talk to them about the things they see in the pieces and what they would draw if they could hang their work in this gallery.

When the boredom factor sets in, let them run outside on the grounds a bit.  Or just threaten them with the imposing figure of Athena if they get too fussy. (What?)

A healthy, kid-friendly lunch can be had nearby Elliston Place, at one of Nashville's many Calypso Cafe restaurant locations.
