Word on the Street

Do you have an aspiring police officer in your house? Someone who is very interested in the thin blue line? This museum will be a delight. The Portland Police Museum offers wonderful, bite-sized exhibits. You can see early police motorcycles and other vehicles, the arrest logs of the late 19th century, as well as the police badges and museums through time. There is also a gift shop that includes children's clothing.

The museum is subject to security that may seem unusual, as anyone over 18 must show ID. It may also be closed if there are other security concerns, so you may wish to call ahead to make sure it's open before you venture out.
