Word on the Street

Do you have a dinosaur-obsessed creature? A gigantic geology fan? This is for you! The Rice Museum, a little gem itself tucked away in Washington County, will have a day of kids games, displays, demonstratons, speakers and instruction in how to identify certain fossils. You can look around the Museum as well, picking out extraordinary specimens like dinosaur eggs, thundereggs and even a gigantic gold nugget (hands off, friends). It's not necessarily on the beaten path, so don't expect restaurants or other attractions. You may instead decide to take a picnic or plan on going into Hillsboro if you want to make a day of it.
