Word on the Street

BAM Rose Cinemas, part of Brooklyn Academy of Music, is like the Angelica movie theater of Brooklyn. While they do show mainstream films, they also offer those off the beaten path, including indy, foreign and short-release films. Most of the time the films are adult in content, and, therefore, not appropriate for children, but there are just as often films and festivals with the younger audience in mind. Think international, animation, and that sort of thing. Anyone under 12 is considered a child; anyone under 6 will not be admitted to a film unless is it specifically intended for children.
