Clearing Branch opened June 12, 1994, replacing a small storefront and continuing library service that began more than fifty-two years earlier. The branch contains artwork in a range of materials by three artists, Gail Roberts, Linda Vredeveld, and Larry Zgoda. The works of art were funded through the Percent for Art Ordinance administered by the City of Chicago Public Art Program.
