The mission of the Western Museum of Mining and Industry is to educate the public about the history and continuing contributions of mining in the American West through its collection, restoration, exhibition and interpretation of artifacts related to mining, metallurgy and their support industries.

Word on the Street

Over 4,000 artifacts are on exhibit at the indoor and outdoor Western Museum of Mining & Industry. Visit a ten-stamp mill and multi-purpose center with exhibits and theater. Learn about Colorado history, mining and industrial technology, geology, and the environment. 

The museum also offers a research library.

Family days are offered three times a year and usually include hands-on projects for children and adults.
