Word on the Street

Head to Indian Rock for some climbing and a snack. Go around to the part of the rock where there are "steps" cut into the large rock, climb carefully (most 3-year-olds should have no trouble). When you get to the top, revel in your accomplishment and enjoy the view.From the top, you'll see San Francisco and all three of the Bay's largest bridges. Point them out.  Ooh and ahh. Enjoy your little snack as you talk about where we live.If there's still energy to burn, they do practice climbing techniques on the lower part of the large rock. Small kids can scale side to side or up and down as they feel comfortable.Here are some quick facts to make it a historically significant visit instead of just fun:Volcanic in origin, Indian Rock is the largest of a number of similar rhyolite outcroppings in the vicinity.
