Get Going, Get Messy, Get Creative!

One of the most natural things that we do with our kids in the summer -- something that's fun and incorporates those all-important fine motor skills and creative thinking skills -- is creating art together.  And isn't summer the perfect time to get messy?  Take the art to the patio and clean up with the garden hose when you're done.  We always have a box of sidewalk chalk and paints and crayons just waiting for inspiration to strike -- maybe from the summer movie you just saw or perhaps an outdoor adventure your family just took or even the flowers and critters that we see out our window at this time of year.
