Celebrating Spring

Spring is here in Colorado. Warmer weather, blue sunny skies, life is breathing itself back into the trees, plants and flowers. Spring fever is sure to be in your house, too. Here are some great spring events to get you and your family out of the house and into some fun! From Easter events to beautiful displays at the Botanic Gardens and everything in between, we've got you covered as you venture out into the warmer air.

On April 7, head down to the Children's Museum in Denver for the Bunny Trail EggVenture! Jump, hop and bounce from one "eggsploration station" to the next at this spring event filled with all kinds of blossoming fun including egg-dyeing, springtime artwork, tasty treats, and even a story with the Easter Bunny! Your kids will have a blast and you can create great memories for the entire family.

Another Eggstravaganza on April 7 is the spring event at the Wildlife Experience in Parker. This EGGstraordinary event celebrates the coming of spring with many EGGciting activities and surprises. Guests of all ages will participate in springtime games and crafts and visit egg stations throughout the museum. Stay for a showing of Yogi the Easter Bear in the theater or catch one of their great 3D movies currently playing. Turtle Vision or Sharks 3D! The entire family will love this great fun-filled day.

Throughout the month of April, Miller Farms in Platteville is hosting a Spring Festival! This great event actually goes through the end of June (weather permitting) so no need to rush up there Easter weekend. This event is designed to teach children about how plants are started on a farm. You will take a short tour through the greenhouses, and they even let each child plant a seed and transplant a flower to take home to watch them in their various stages of growth. Depending on the weather and the time of your visit, they may take you out to their fields and show the kids how they plant crops on the farm. Many times children are allowed to harvest something small to take home! You won't want to miss this, but there is plenty of time to visit the farm before this event is over!

What better way to enjoy the great spring Colorado weather, than to visit a Farmer's Market. Boulder has a great one. Every Saturday, head up to Central Park in Downtown Boulder. Many of the area parking garages will be free as well. Browse many local farmer's produce and rest easy as you are buying Colorado-grown food. This tradition started in Boulder in 1987 and is a staple through the spring, summer, and fall. Neighboring Longmont also has a farmer's market and there are many others throughout the Denver Metro area as well. Why not let your kids help pick out fresh organic apples for a pie or some locally grown vegetables for dinner?

These are just a few fun spring events to try out. We are adding more and more every week, so be sure to sign up for the Denver newsletter, as well. Feel free to leave a comment below, if you have found a great spring event in your area that you'd like to share!
