And, laughter is contagious, particularly when the laughter emanates from your young one. Certainly, one of the greatest perks of parenthood is witnessing those moments when your child is truly, genuinely, laughing -- the type of deep, rolling laughter that comes only from the heart. That type of joy is infectious. You can’t help but feel it too. And, what makes it even more special is that for kids, even the simplest, most mundane gestures can lead to giggling fits. Silly faces, funny noises, the most basic clown gag -- the sillier, the better for most young children.
Sometimes the most fun can be had when a child laughs at herself. Let your child dress up in a silly costume (mom and dad's closets are a good place to start) and just sit back and enjoy the laughter and fun that is sure to come. On a day when you plan to stay home, have everyone put together the wildest, wackiest outfits they can find and wear them all day. Pair some striped pants or crazy skirt with sneakers or flip flops and a Tiara. Everyone needs to join in. Choose a new 'character' name and be someone different for the day! Don't forget to take pictures!
