Wonder Time
The mind of a child is a fertile one. In addition to absorbing and synthesizing new information, it brims with creativity. Indeed, sometimes it seems as if there are virtually no boundaries to a child's imagination. They create imaginary friends, pretend to be astronauts or super heroes, and tell truly tale tales. That creativity is a gift and an important skill -- a skill that can and should be nourished. Experts have found that a creative child is more likely to have an expanded vocabulary and that children who think creatively go on to become better problem solvers as adults because they are better able to imagine solutions. And while their creativity comes naturally, it can be encouraged. Here are a few fun ways to inspire some imaginative play with your child:
