Activity Detail
Let the kids decorate the tree this year with these simple ornaments that smell as good as they look. To make the ornaments: 1) Combine 1 cup applesauce and 1 cup cinnamon in a small bowl until it forms a dough. (If dough is too wet, add a little more cinnamon.) 2) Roll out dough on wax paper to about 3/8 inch thickness. 4) Cut into Christmas shapes using small or medium sized cookie cutters. Make a hole in each for ribbon. 5) Place on a cookie sheet and let air dry 2-3 days. Turn ornaments over periodically so both sides will dry. (Tip: To speed up the drying process, put ornaments in the oven at lowest setting for 3-4 hours.) 6) String with ribbon and hang on Christmas tree. Be careful, though; the ornaments will be quite fragile after drying.
