Paper, various materials around the house, crayons or markers.
Help your child create a book on different textures using materials around the house. Some textures that you can explore are smooth, rough, crinkly, soft, hard, and sticky. Materials that you can use to illustrate these textures can be cotton, sandpaper, aluminum foil, wrapping paper, tape or fabric. Make a blank book by folding several pieces of paper in half together (if you have a big enough stapler, you can staple down the middle to hold the book together). Glue the materials one to a page and label each object as smooth, rough, etc. Finish up your project by decorating the front cover!
