Greeting Card Chain

Scissors (for parent's use), used greeting cards, stapler/staples

Activity Detail

Cut old/used greeting cards into horizontal strips. Show your child how to loop one strip and staple the ends together. Insert a second strip through the loops and staple its ends together to form a second link on the chain. Continue this process until the chain is as long as you like. This is a great way to recycle Christmas cards or birthday cards. You can also create "themed" garland by collecting and using only Halloween cards or Christmas cards. Then use the chain to decorate your house for the next Halloween or Christmas!
