A slice of white bread, cookie cutter, peanut butter, knife to spread peanut butter (plastic is fine!), yarn, bird seed on a plate.
Take a cookie cutter and punch a nice shape out of a slice of white bread. You can save the scraps for breadcrumbs or make ones with the center cut out. Punch a hole into the bread for yarn to hang, thread the yarn through the bread shape. Then let the white bread shapes sit out for a day or two so that they become firm. This will make it easier to spread the peanut butter. Once the bread has firmed up, spread peanut butter on one side of the bread, then turn over and push the peanut-buttered side into bird seed. You can turn it over and put peanut butter and seed on the other side, too, if you wish. Once you've finished, hang your peanut treat outside on a tree for the birds to eat. (Please note, some children may be allergic to peanuts or peanut-products and should not participate in this activity; other nut butters can be substituted)
