Handprint Tree

ages 2-6

Supplies

Light colored construction paper, washable paint (brown, green, and red), and old shirt. Optional: pictures of birds, crayons or markers to draw the sky.

Activity Detail

This is a really fun way to help your toddler make a cute art project. Paint the inside of your child's forearm brown then press it down on a piece of white paper. This will be the trunk of the tree. Then dip (or paint with a brush) your child's hand in green paint. Press down several times overlapping to make the leaves of the tree. Last have your child dip his/her finger in red and press down on the green "branches." This makes for "fruit" on the tree. If you and your child are feeling extra creative, you can also cut out pictures of birds or have your child draw the sky and sun.
