Children's Tin Tea Set

by Schylling

For ages 2-6 years

This tea set is especially charming, and we love the old-fashioned look that the tin gives, when we are otherwise feeling overrun by plastic and fearful of whether the little ones are really careful enough with ceramic cups. This set includes a setting for four with cups, saucers and plates, a tea pot with lid and a tray to contain it all. The tray would also work well for delivering breakfast in bed to a sleepy parent on a weekend morning, if your little waitress were so inclined?..

$14.99

We have gotten more compliments on this particular tea set than I can keep track of. Not only is it our favorite, but it's the perfect tea set size to serve to dolls and bears.... and mommy and daddy alike.

What little girls don't love having a tea party (or any party for that matter!)? My little ones love to ask Mommy if she'd like some tea, and pour it for me, then follow it up with milk, cream, and sugar. It's a wonderfully girly activity and one that is a sure thing.

We got a ceramic tea set as a gift last year and one piece was broken by our toddler who was "helping" his big sister. We'll be looking for a sturdier set this year. This one looks like a good option!

I have no idea why my girl loves serving tea so much considering she doesn't drink the stuff but boy does she love to throw tea parties. This is a great set for tiny hands that may not have the dexterity to handle a china set (translation: will not break in fumbles over the tea pot). She loves to invite me and her dad plus her favourite doll-du-jour to enjoy an afternoon sitting in the parlour (okay, it's the living room but imagination transports us to fancier digs).

We love tea parties at our house, but I made the mistake of buying a ceramic tea set first round. After worries about breaking tiny cups and saucers ruined more than one party, I invested in a tin tea set like this instead. Cute and functional! I'll drink (tea) to that!
