Grandmother Remembers: A Written Heirloom for My Grandchild
by Judith Levy
For ages Parents
All children are curious about where they come from. What grandmother can resist a child who asks them to tell about when they were little? This lovely memory book does just that, with simple prompts such as asking grandma to fill in a family tree, write a few lines about her own parents, or recall her favorite girlhood songs and books. There is space for a few old pictures or keepsakes too. The design is simple, old-fashioned, and, as these things go, not overly sentimental. Grandmother can fill it out at her own pace, and answer as many or as few questions as she pleases. When its pages are filled, what a precious volume this will be for the grandchildren: an introduction to family history and a sense of the past, and something they will no doubt appreciate more and more as they grow.
