Super Giant Horseshoe Magnet Kit

by Dowling Magnets

For ages 3+ years

Magnets are so intriguing to little minds that they almost seem to blur the line between science-based play and pure imaginative make-believe. Can a magnet really just reach out and grab something across the table? Can it make a metal clip fly through thin air? Amazing stuff, with no mess - our kind of toy! This extra big 8-inch red horseshoe magnet is especially easy to hold and comes with over 72 magnetic pieces to pick up (including marbles, chips, rings, paperclips, etc.) and a booklet of information and activities. Learning how to do the magnet-under-the-table-making-the-pieces-move-all-by-themselves trick just might unleash your child's inner magician. Keep the littler siblings away from all these tiny pieces, but by all means encourage your child who is old enough to keep the pieces out of his mouth to experiment with picking up all sorts of things with this magnet. Just keep your credit cards out of reach of the superstrong magnetic reach?.

This big magnet is so cool because it's easy to hold and has a strong pull. It's fun to go around the house and see what sticks and what doesn't! Example, refrigerator.

Toys like this are a reminder that little ones don't need fancy, loud, techno toys to keep them entertained. Simply observing how a magnet works can keep them interested for hours. This is a good choice (just watch out for all of those small pieces).

Before I saw my daughter play with this, I didn't get the appeal of this toy. Who knew magnets would be so fascinating? But I take that all back because watching my little scientist test every object in walking distance for metal makes this toy worth while. Magnets are still "magic" to this three year old but figuring out what moves and what doesn't move with the "magic" is really fun.

One of the greatest simple toys ever is the magnet kit. Fern loves to figure out what will stick to it, or drag it through playground sand to pick up the soft iron filaments within. My daughter loves that the magnet gives her the near-magical ability to lift and move things without touching them, across empty space -- truly a blast for the curious kid.
