Sugar Plum Fairy Skirt

by Acting Out

For ages One size fits most 3-6

What could be more fun than dressing up and dancing the hours away? If your little girl enjoys music and dance, she is sure to adore these new music-making outfits from Acting Out. The brainchild of two moms with (surprise, surprise) four small daughters between them, the company has been producing this line of musical dress-up clothes since 2003. Toss out your reservations (if you ever had any) about poofy pink dresses, and give your mini-diva the chance to twirl and leap in style to the music of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Ballet or Jimmy Davis's "You Are My Sunshine." The musical device is hidden within an interior pocket of the skirt, and plays as long as the little dancer is in motion. These toys are a great introduction to some lovely music, and a fun way to encourage indoor exercise even after dance class ends.

What girl (or boy?) in her Princess phase WOULDN'T love this combination tutu/ballerina/musical outfit? I know several little girls for whom this would be a perfect gift -- prancing around and taking the music with you is pretty darn convenient! And hey, if you get sick of the tunes, you can always take the player out of the hidden pocket and let them play Princess/Ballerina just with the outfit.

I was recently introduced to this fantastic line of musical dress-up and blankets and I must say, how refreshing! Not only is the product unique, the quality is really nice and my kiddos love their blanket by Acting Out. Several of these musical skirts have won the prestigious Oppenheim Toy Portfolio award. They have also won several awards from Creative Child Magazine, iParenting Media, and others. And they appeared on the Today Show, Good morning America and The View. How's that for references?
