Time to Learn Preschool

by Fisher Price

For ages 2-5 years

This little preschool play scene is a well-loved favorite among some of our Savvy kiddies, and we would be willing to bet that they've barely even noticed all the counting they've learned in between all the regular old fun they've been having with this toy. Each of the ten Little People figures gathered around this little red schoolhouse and its playground is holding a different number, and the touch-activated mat quizzes your very own little person about numbers, as well as colors and shapes. The abacus counts, and so does the sidewalk as the figures walk along. Even with the sound off, it's a fun little imagination scene where your little one can play school. And the pretend playground with its slide and swings and teeter totter may just be the answer for how your little one gets to go park on an otherwise inclement winter day!

My daughter received this as a birthday gift a couple of years ago, and it was her introduction into the land of Little People (toys I fondly remember myself, although today's versions are much fancier). The playground toys and the bus were especially big hits, and it reinforced her counting skills. Defintely a popular perennial!

This is great to get your little one ready for preschool in addition to the preschool books you are reading. They will get a feel of what is going to be happeing at school. Once they are at school they can emmulate what happens at school- you can get an insight into what they do as well!

we added this to our little people village the month that noah started preschool. at first i used it to figure out what he liked about school and what he didn't like. he especially liked the slide toy that came with it, because he really liked the slide at school. but soon enough he discovered all the little counting and other learning activities was pretty fun too.
