Caroling Carolers Carol for Christmas.

by Jenny Meade -- Being Savvy Kansas City

It's a tad chilly today for caroling here in Kansas City, but hopefully by next week as we wind down toward Christmas Day there will be some opportunities to dress up in our coats and hats and gloves and be comfortable enough to ring our neighbor's doorbells and sing them classic holiday songs. Kids love to sing, especially songs that are familiar and associated with specific rituals - whether it be Happy Birthday or Jingle Bells.

(Just watch out for that older child that teaches them to sing "Jingle Bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg..."

(Ahem, that would be my kid, probably. Sorry about that.)

Anyway, here's a link to a some classic Christmas carols for kids young and old.  There's also a fun little bit of history about each song that helps explain some of those weird, old-timey words.  Like "Mommy, What's a bob-tailed nag? Is that when you bother the dog by pulling his tail?"
