Summer is a wonderful time to expose your children to the arts. Moms and dads love watching kids play dressup. Trying on costumes. Dancing and skipping around the room. Many young boys and girls love dancing.
Ballet performances are often long and intense. Most ballet company performances are designed for adults only due to the length of the program. As parents we want to give our children meaningful and age-appropriate cultural experiences. Wolf Trap is showcasing the Maryland Youth Ballet.
The talented young dancers of the Maryland Youth Ballet will present Caroline Goes to the Zoo. The performance features the fantastic adventures of Caroline and her friends. Caroline and friends head to the zoo to meet the animals on another adventure. This is a great opportunity to introduce young children to the excitement of ballet.Wolf Trap Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods is a join presentation by the Wolf Trap Foundation and the National Park Service. Wolf Trap's Children's Theater-in-the-Woods is the perfect spot for kids in the summertime.
The performances are age-appropriate both in content and length. The performers are seasoned veterans who know how to engage children and entertain them.
In Summer 2010, there are over 70 summer shows that are each 45 minutes in length. The shows range from family-friendly musical productions to dance to story telling to puppetry to theater. The performances are recommended for children between Kindergarten and 6th grade.
