Does your child have an itch to play a musical instrument, but is unsure which one? We have the answer! At our Instrument Petting Zoos, children and adults are given the opportunity to listen to and play a wide range of instruments, including woodwinds, brass, strings, guitar, piano and drums. Demonstrations on dance and early childhood music and movement programs, as well as short performances will take place at scheduled times during the event.
Last year's Petting Zoo proved to be a huge success! Almost 200 parents and children of all ages enjoyed trying out an assortment of musical instruments, including flute, clarinet, trumpet, saxophone, stand up bass, cello, viola, violin, guitar, piano and drums. Children puffed their cheeks in anticipation of playing the wind instruments, while others tried their hands at the strings and continued to hammer on the drums and piano. Several instruments were larger than the children, which did not dissuade their curiosity or ability!
