Boston Ballet brings its holiday classic The Nutcracker to Boston Children's Museum for an entire day of activities including brief excerpt performances, interactive dance and music lessons, arts and crafts, educational displays, and a meet and greet featuring an opportunity to take photos with characters from the production. The Nutcracker PerformanceKidStage, First Floor Watch a working rehearsal for The Nutcracker with the students of Boston Ballet School. Times: 12:30pm, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm, and 4:30 pm Dance ClassThird Floor Bridge Take a dance class with Luciano Aimar, Boston Ballet School's Children's Program Head. Times: 11am, 1:00pm Music Class The Common, Second Floor Boston Ballet Orchestra Conductor, Jonathan McPhee hosts an interactive lesson about the musical side of dance featuring live Boston Ballet Orchestra musicians. Times: 11:15pm, 1:15 pm Collage Costume Design The Art Studio, Second Floor Children can experiment with fabrics to create their own costumes, like the one currently on loan from Boston Ballet and displayed at The Recycle Shop. Times: Throughout the day, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm Find Fit Feet and Footwear The Common, Second Floor See the inner working of pointe and ballet shoes with a display of Boston Ballet dancer's shoes. Times: Throughout the day, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm How Do They Do That?Investigate in Science Playground, First Floor The science of balance is explored. Times: Throughout the day, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm Photo OpportunityThe Common, Second Floor Visitors can meet characters from Boston Ballet's The Nutcracker and have their photo taken.
