Kodomono ME! Japanese Children's Day Family Special
Kids create their own kimono? Try a traditional sword dance using just a folding paper fan? To celebrate Japanese Children’s Day, master artist Shizumi Shigeto Manale will teach families how they can celebrate the arts and culture of Japan for Kodomono Hi—Children’s Day. Watch a giant origami crane take shape right before everyone’s eyes! Learn to count in Japanese! Instructions for the activities go home with every child. After the Saturday show, families can explore bridges, helicopters, and airplanes through the art of origami—paper folding—with Curiosity Zone. Learn to create the optical illusion of a smiling and frowning dollar bill, and more!
