Weekly farmers market featuring fresh produce, bakery items, and live music.
A little-known destination for children of all ages to enjoy live music is the Encino Farmer's Market at One Generation Center on Victory Blvd. On one end of the market, a Bolivian trio plays Latin music with exotic-looking instruments like a harp and a mandolin. Watch children dance and attract attention as they snack on homemade tamales and strawberry lemonade. On the other end, among the peaches and corn on the cob, a one-man-band pops out between the stalls to sing kid-friendly songs as he plays guitar and harmonica. His smile warms the shady area and grows even bigger if the kids put a dollar in his jar.The market promises to be a Sunday morning regular. Bonus: free samples at almost every stand, with fresh offerings of different fruits in every season.
