What could be better than surf, sand, sun and great food? All this plus rubber duckies! This weekend head to the Huntington Beach Pier for a weekend full of fun activities, vendors and rubber duckie races.
This is the 18th year thousands of rubber duckies have surfed the waves at Huntington Beach. And all for a terrific cause. The three-day event raises much needed funds for AltaMed's Huntington Beach Community Clinic, where thousands of uninsured and medically underserved patients are treated every year!
Friday, the Duck-A-Thon begins with Sunset Wine Tasting on the Pier. Saturday, the actual Duck-A-Thon event takes place with the 2010 space theme, "2010: A Duck Odyssey." Vendors will be selling food, crafts, art and other fun, creative items. Don't miss the gigantic, duckie-themed kids' area with bounce houses, rubber duckie decorating, a toddler zone and much more.
Purchase your duckie and watch as over 4,000 duckies are dumped into the water. The first 50 to swim to shore win a prize! Space ducks win double the prizes for their owners.
Sunday's corporate event will have only one winner when the "Big Mama Ducks" race.
You can purchase your duckie online: $10 for a baby duck, $20 for a Space Duck and $100 for a Big Mama duck.
So bring the family down for a fun event and support the community with this terrific charity event.
