The Biltmore - Where Everybody Knows Your Name
It's winter. It's cold and it's likely you're in hibernation mode. The playgrounds are snow-filled, the indoor play-spaces are germ-filled, and your kids are bouncing off the walls. So why not take them out to eat?
There are many family-friendly restaurants in our city but while they may serve up the crayons and toys, they mostly don't serve up food that's worth the price-tag. Not so at The Biltmore in Newton.
From the outside it's just another pub. But step inside and feel the hospitality of the staff, the coziness of the restaurant, and all the fabulous touches that make The Biltmore special. With almost a retro feel to the room, it'll please both you and your kids. It definitely has the warmth of a neighborhood spot, where you can return to again and again.
Owner, Jason Owens, makes sure that families will feel at-home at his place. He also makes sure that you're as comfortable eating here as possible. Details such as serving filtered water, using only the finest ingredients including many organic choices, and offering a kids' menu to rival any, make the restaurant great.
And the food is WONDERFUL! While the kids nibble on smaller versions of the grown-up favorites like mac fritters, sliders, franks and simple pasta, adults can indulge as well. The 'hog wings' are tasty and worth the calories and the 'ahi tuna', served with a light aioli will hit your craving for raw fish. If you're really hungry, the prohibition-era inspired 'chicken & waffles' are not only completely unique, but they are outstanding. Seriously, while this combo may not have been on your radar before, you might consider it a staple after tasting it. The Biltmore is also known for their Sunday brunch and the menu looks mouth-watering (breakfast sliders, anyone?).
If you're still hungry, the desserts are sinfully delish - the 'brownie sliders' are perfect to share and the whole family will love them.
Biltmore is really the perfect destination on a cold winter's day. The space is lively and open - perfect for restless kids. The service is friendly and quick. And the food, well, pay them a visit and see for yourself.
