This album, originally released as an audio CD and now available as a DVD with puppets singing along, is a fantastic break from traditional "kid music." The alphabet is clearly just the springboard for the band, as they riff both musically and lyrically on the letters and end up on a wonderful, winding path through upbeat, ballad, country and electronic/funk music. The songs are catchy without being annoying, and it is one of the few CDs that you won't dread your little one asking for in the car. For the tenth time in a row. The songs are great, and if you start listening to it all by yourself because it just happened to be playing when you got it for a rare moment without the little ones in the back, we promise, we won't tell a soul.

At first, I wasn't so sure about these songs, but they quickly grew on me, and it's now a kids' CD that I'll gladly listen to (and the DVD is lots of fun to watch also). The songs are short and catchy and easy for young kids to learn. The song "C is for Conifers" is a favorite of my son's, it had him pointing out conifer trees during a family hike!

My sons simply *ADORE* this CD and DVD. The songs get them up on their feet, the silly lyrics make them laugh and my husband and I enjoy They Might Be Giants now as much as we did in college. We play their music all the time. Don't forget to check out "Here Come the 1,2,3s" too - its' just as good.

My daughter loves word play, even though she doesn't really understand it. The songs on this album make her giggle -- especially when dad tries to sing along. Our special favorites are "Q-U," a tale of an epic partnership, and "Hot Dog!", a Mickey-Mouse song that mostly just repeats the title.
