Camp Tall Timbers
Route 1, Box 472
High View, WV 26808
Team and individual sports, as well as clinics and instructional work, are integral parts of our athletics program. We run an active schedule of inter-camp games and tournaments. Campers also have the opportunity to participate in competitions with other camps and clubs. Both boys and girls participate in a noncompetitive league program where the emphasis is on sportsmanship and fair play.
We emphasize and encourage the enhancement of water skills following the Red Cross Achievement Program. Canoeing, Tubing and Water Skiing are additional water skills that are developed through instruction. Our private lake and pool help provide our campers with a well rounded program.
Self-expression and learning by doing are central themes in our fine arts program. Arts & Crafts, Aerobics, Newspaper, Model Rocketry, Dramatics, Dance and Photography all play an active role in the program.
Our overall program includes the opportunity for campers to participate in our American Camp Association Accredited Riding Program. Our well-schooled horses give campers a chance to pursue both an English and Western seat. We take the time to evaluate campers interested in riding, matching their abilities with the right skill level class. Our sand filled ring allows campers to gain or improve their horsemanship skills. We have endless trails that let us get outside the stables and enjoy all the scenery our site has to offer.
Our scenic setting presents the perfect backdrop for our nature related programs. Environmental education through backpacking, hiking, rock climbing and overnight trips provides a fresh atmosphere for learning. Our rock climbing wall, low ropes course and zip wire offer additional hands on learning opportunities.
