Summer Fun! is a summer day camp focused on four art disciplines: music, drama, visual art and dance. Each three-week session culminates in an art exhibition of the children’s work and a performance of an original musical. Established in 1993, Summer Fun! is a non-profit (501(c)3) educational organization that meets on the campuses of Coe and Fairview Schools in Seattle. The camp runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with extended care available until 5:30 p.m. for parents who need additional coverage. The camp serves four groups of children ages seven to twelve. Former camp participants, ages 13-18, assist the teaching staff as “Junior Counselors.” These assistants are great assets to the camp. They become positive role models and excellent mentors to the younger students as well as knowing the camp routines thoroughly. Our teaching staff consists of a music specialist, drama specialist, art instructor, dance instructor and an extended care/lunch time activities coordinator. All staff members are experts in their fields, have worked in local public schools as “artists-in-residence” or hold Washington State teaching certificates.
