Nature Explorers Summer Camps Summer Camps at Tyler Arboretum connect kids and nature as campers explore our unique and diverse ecosystems. Enthusiastic, highly-qualified staff and low student/teacher ratios facilitate fun, interactive learning with nature and stewardship projects, games, naturalist-led lessons, crafts and hikes. Become skilled at identifying different plants and discover their role in the ecosystem. Play in the garden while planting seeds and harvesting part of your lunch. Let's Go Play...July 6 - July 8 Roll on a hill, make a mud pie, build a small dam and play games in the grass. Join us for three fun-filled days playing among hills, along streams and in our open spaces. Living Like The Lenape...July 11 - 15 Campers will explore Tyler's Lenape village and try their hand at Native Americanc rafts and games while learning how the Lenape survived living in harmony with nature. Big Bugs, Little Bugs...July 18 - 22 Catch butterflies, set beetle traps, search for millipedes and learn why insects and their kin are so important. Spend the week investigating insects and their arthropod friends. Wet, Wild and Wacky! July 25 - 29 We'll keep you wet and wild in the heat of th summer! Explore the stream for crayfish and other water creatures, make dams and learn how amazing water is! We'll play tons of water games and have lots of water fun! Wizard and Fairy Week...August 1 - 5 Our wizards, fairies, gnomes and elves are back for the season! They all love Tyler and are especially happy when helping Mother Nature. Join in on the fun; learn how to be a magical nature-nurturer. Where are the Wild Things? August 8 - 12 Explorers will unearth the secrets of plants, animals and insects and discover how each has adapted in cool, wacky and scary ways, in order to live in their habitats. Art at the Arb...August 15 - 19 Express your creative side! Find beauty and inspiration in the natural world that surrounds us. Create works of art using natural materials; discover nature's beauty through the camera lens.
