Many adults have long ago given up any hopes or dreams of being "artistic" even though they continue to love the arts and enjoy the art they see around them. But it doesn't have to be this way. Learning to draw is for most people an enriching experience. It doesn't take much time, everyone can learn how to do it, and it's a self-improvement that lasts a lifetime. This fall we are adding two new classes exclusively for adults. Wednesday mornings we have Basic Drawing for Adults, a two-hour, BI-WEEKLY class that will focus on developing primary drawing skills. This class is open to any adult (beginner, novice, intermediate) who wishes to sign up.This class is intended for teens who see drawing and fine art skills as a pre-requisite for their future higher education. Every post high school college and school that is associated with the arts requires a portfolio for application. While most "art kids" produce their portfolios in high school they are typically constructed as studies and skill demonstrations, such as charcoal, graphite and colored pencil art. Assigned subjects may not always represent the students real interests. Our portfolio class is intended to present an opportunity for students to add to their portfolios with the mediums, techniques and subject matter that the student chooses. Want to work on acrylic paint technique? We can do it. Need to learn more about portraiture? No problem. The student requests the content and we provide the space, materials, guidance and feedback. If your student wants more time for his or her portfolio work, we're happy to work with them.
