COWBOY AND COWGIRL CAMP--JUNE 5 - 9 THIS CAMP IS GEARED TOWARD JR./SR. HIGH YOUTH. WE WILL BE WORKING WITH THE HORSES GETTING THEM READY FOR THE SUMMER. WE ALSO WILL BE BUILDING CORRALS AND FENCES, REPAIRING TACK, MANY ASPECTS OF TRAINING HORSES. FOOD WILL BE COOKED CHUCK WAGON STYLE OUT ON CAMPFIRE. DURWIN BURTZ, PROGRAM DIRECTOR WILL BE TEACHING HOW TO USE DUTCH OVENS TO COOK OVER THE CAMPFIRE. CAMPERS CAN STAY IN CABINS OR OUT IN TENTS BY THE CAMPFIRE. WE WILL BE WORKING SO BRING WORK GLOVES AND WILLING HANDS TO PUT IN YOUR GLOVES. GOLF WEEKEND - JUNE 10 - 12 WE WILL AGAIN HAVE THE FUN FILLED WEEKEND OF LEARNING FROM EXPERIENCED GOLFERS ALL THE ASPECTS OF THE SPORT. WE WILL BE GOLFING AT THE COZY ACRES GOLF COURSE IN MADISON, IN ON SATURDAY AND HAVING BIBLE TIMES DURING THE WEEKEND. WEE WRANGLER DAY CAMP--JUNE 13, 14, 15 3 YEARS OLD --3rd GRADE ARE THE AGES FOR THIS CAMP. THIS IS A PROGRAM DESIGNED FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TO GET A TASTE OF CAMP FOR THE FIRST TIME BY LEARNING CAMP SONGS, LEARNING BIBLE STORIES, AND HAVING RECREATION TIME IN THE AFTERNOONS. CAMPERS WILL COME TO CAMP FOR THE DAY AND GO BACK HOME AT NIGHT. DROP OFF TIME 8:00 am EVERY MORNING AND PICK UP TIME IS 5:30 pm EVERY NIGHT. WEE WRANGLER OVERNIGHT CAMP--JUNE 15-16 KINDERGARTEN-- 3rd GRADE ARE THE AGES FORTHIS PROGRAM. THIS IS FOR FIRST TIME CAMPERS. THEY WILL GET TO EXPERIENCE STAYING OVERNIGHT AT CAMP, CAMPFIRE, AND ALL OF THE ACTIVITIES OF THE OLDER CAMPERS (CAVE TOURS, HORSEBACK RIDING, SWIMMING, FISHING, AND POSSIBLY CANOEING IN THE LAKE). THEY WILL LEARN BIBLE STORIES DURING CLASS TIME. JR. CAVE WEEKEND - JUNE 17 - 19 CAMPERS WILL BE LEARNING THE BASICS OF CAVING BY BEING IN CAVES CLOSE TO THE CAMP. THIS IS GEARED TOWARD 3RD - 6TH GRADERS. JR. CHUCK WAGON WEEKEND--JUNE 17 - 19 THIS IS A CAMP FOR 3rd--6th GRADER TO EXPERIENCE WILDERNESS CAMPING ON A WEEKEND. CAMPERS WILL BASED OUT OF THE WILDERNESS AREA FOR THE WEEKEND. THEY WILL LEARN TO COOK OVER OPEN CAMPFIRE, SLEEP IN TENTS OR ON THE GROUND, AND THEY WILL GET TO SPEND TIME IN THE SADDLE TRAIL RIDING. AVIATION WEEK - JUNE 18 - 25 THIS IS A NON-SCHOLARSHIP WEEK FOR 7TH - 12TH GRADERS THAT TEACHES YOUNG PEOPLE ABOUT WHAT IT TAKES TO FLY A PLANE AND MORE IMPORTANTLY HOW TO FLY INTO AREAS THAT ARE NOT THE NORMAL AIRPORTS. THE INSTRUCTOR IS LIONEL SMITH FROM CHRISTIAN WINGS OF THE WORLD MISSION AND IT IS AT THE MISSION THAT LIONEL AND HIS WIFE SARA OPERATE IN MISSOURI THAT THIS WEEK TAKES PLACE. APPLICANTS NEED TO BE SERIOUS ABOUT WANTING TO LEARN ALL ASPECTS OF WHAT IT TAKES TO FLY. BASICS OF FAITH WEEK--JUNE 19 - 23 THIS WEEK IS TEAM UP WITH HANDI-CAMP WEEK TO HELP TEACH CAMPERS ABOUT BEING MISSIONARY MINDED. THEY ARE THERE TO HELP WITH THE OTHER CAMPERS, BUT THEY ALSO HAVE THEIR OWN IN-DEPTH BIBLE STUDY TIME. MANY OF THESE CAMPERS GO ON TO HELP IN THE FACILITATING OF OTHER WEEKS WHEN NEEDED. HANDI-CAMP--JUNE 19 - 23 THIS IS A PROGRAM DESIGNED FOR DISABLED YOUTH THROUGH ADULTS. MENTAL AND PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED PERSONS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND. WE WILL GO BOWLING ONE NIGHT, TRAVEL TO HARDY LAKE TO ENJOY SWIMMING AND A PICNIC, AND WILL ALSO VISIT THE CAVES AND RIDE HORSES. CAMPFIRE WILL END EACH DAY. OUR ANNUAL TALENT SHOW WILL ALSO PROVE TO BE ONE THE BEST ATTRACTIONS OF THE WEEKEND. COMBO WEEK---JUNE 26 - 30 THIS IS FOR 3rd--6th GRADERS. THIS WEEK GIVE CAMPERS A CHANCE TO REALIZE A REGULAR WEEK OF CAMP. THEY HAVE CLASSES, AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES, VESPERS, LEARN COMPETITIONS, AND CAMPFIRE EACH DAY. THIS CAMP WILL START ON SUNDAY NIGHT AT 6:00pm AND WILL END AT 6:00pm ON THURSDAY NIGHT. MUSIC CAMP--JUNE 26 - 30 CAMPERS WILL PERFORM CONTEMPORARY AND TRADITIONAL CHRISTIAN MUSIC VOCALLY AND ON INSTRUMENTS. YOU WILL LEARN THE BASICS OF CHORD STRUCTURE IN ORDER TO IMPROVISE YOUR OWN PARTS. GUITAR, KEYBOARD, BASS, BAND AND STRING INSTRUMENT MAY PARTICIPATE. AT LEAST 2 YEARS OF INSTRUCTION ON AN INSTRUMENT IS RECOMMENDED. A PERFORMANCE AT THE LOCAL NURSING HOME ON WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON WILL BE THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE CAMP FAMILY WEEKEND - JULY 1 - 3 THIS IS FUN TIME FOR ANY FAMILY TO COME AND JUST ENJOY THE INDEPENDENCE WEEKEND BY SWIMMING IN THE RIVER, CAVING, CANOEING. OR HORSEBACK RIDING. BIBLE LESSON TIMES WILL BE HAD DURING EACH DAY AND CAMPFIRE AT NIGHT WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE. JR.WRANGLER WEEK--JULY 3 - 7 THIS IS FOR 3rd--6th GRADE STUDENTS ONLY. THIS WEEK IS DESIGNED TO LEARN ABOUT HORSES AND EVERYTHING THAT IS ASSOCIATED WITH TAKING CARE OF A HORSE. CAMPERS WILL ALSO SPEND TIME LEARNING BIBLE STORIES. THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK IS THE RODEO/BARBECUE ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT. CANOE WEEKEND - JULY 8 - 10 KNOWING HOW TO CANOE AND LEARNING HOW TO APPRECIATE NATURE WILL BE THE FOCUS OF THIS WEEKEND. BRING YOUR WILLINGNESS TO BE IN A CANOE AND CAMP OUT FOR THE WEEKEND. 7TH - 12TH GRADE ONLY. SPORT WEEK--JULY 10 - 14 THIS IS A FUN WEEK OF LEARNING ABOUT THE FUNDAMENTAL OF BASKETBALL, ARCHERY, VOLLEYBALL, OR SOCCER. THE CAMPERS GET TO GO TO A LOCAL AREAS TO DO DRILLS IN THEIR RESPECTIVE SPORT AND IN THE AFTERNOON THEY GET TO DO ACTIVITIES SUCH AS HORSEBACK RIDING, CANOEING, SWIMMING, AND CAVING. THEN AFTER AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES THEY GO BACK TO SPEND MORE TIME WORKING ON THOSE FUNDAMENTALS. FISHING WEEKEND--JULY 15 - 17 CAMPERS WILL CHECK IN THIS YEAR ON FRIDAY NIGHT TO BE READY TO GO FISHING AND LEARNING ABOUT FISHING ON SATURDAY MORNING. THIS WEEKEND IS FULL OF FISHING. WE GO FISHING AT THE LAKE AND THE RIVER ON THE CAMPGROUNDS. CAMPERS WILL LEARN HOW TO BAIT A HOOK AND HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THE FISH AFTER ITS CAUGHT. OTHER FISHING TECHNIQUES WILL ALSO BE TAUGHT DURING THE WEEKEND. PHOTOGRAPHY WEEKEND--JULY 15 - 17 CAMPERS WILL LEARN ABOUT TECHNIQUES IN FILM PHOTOGRAPHY, DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY, AND WILL DISCUSS VIDEO PHOTOGRAPHY. SUNDAY MORNING THE CAMPERS WILL ATTEND CORNERSTONE COMMUNITY CHURCH IN SEYMOUR, INDIANA FOR WORSHIP WITH PROGRAM DIRECTOR RON POVALERI. CAMPERS FROM FISHING, SHOOTING SPORTS, AND PHOTOGRAPHY CAMP WEEKEND WILL EAT TOGETHER, HAVE CAMPFIRES TOGETHER, AND SOME BIBLE LESSONS TOGETHER. SHOOTERS SPORTS WEEKEND - JULY 15 - 17 THIS NEW WEEKEND CAMP IS DESIGNED TO TEACH THE FUNDAMENTALS OF HOW, WHY AND WHEN TO USE A GUN. THIS CAMP WILL BE INSTRUCTING CAMPERS ABOUT GUN SAFETY AND HUNTER SAFETY. CAMPERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO BRING THEIR OWN FIREARMS, BUT THEY WILL BE CHECKED IN AND LOCKED UP UNTIL NEEDED. SR. WRANGLER WEEK--JULY 18 - 22 THIS IS FOR 7th--12th GRADE STUDENTS THAT WANT TO WORK WITH HORSES IN A MORE TRADITIONAL AND ADVANCED SETTING. THEY WILL BE STUDYING THE BIBLE AND HAVING RECREATION TIME. WESTWARD HO TO OKLAHOMA 4-- JULY 22 - 30 WE WILL BE HEADING TO OKLAHOMA TO WORK ON RESTORING A CAMP THERE. CAMPERS WILL CHECK IN ON FRIDAY EVENING AND WILL LEAVE FOR OKLAHOMA ON SATURDAY MORNING AND BE BACK HOME IN INDIANA ON SATURDAY EVENING. THEY WILL WORK ON CONTINUING TO CLEAN BRUSH AND BUILDINGS. THEY WILL ALSO HELP WITH LEADING A WEEK OF DAY CAMPS AT THE CAMP. IT IS A NON SCHOLARSHIP WEEK. CAVE WEEK--JULY 25 - 29 THIS HAS CHANGED TO BE FOR JR./SR. HIGH YOUTH. THIS IS AN ADVENTURE PACKED WEEK. WE SPEND MOST OF THE THE WEEK IN A CAVE SOMEWHERE IN SOUTHERN INDIANA. WE MAY GET TO GO TO A CAVE THAT REQUIRES THE CAMPERS TO CAMP OUT. THIS IS A WEEK OF MUDDY CLOTHES AND MORE MESS THAN MOST OF YOU HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. JR./SR. HIGH WRANGLER WILDERNESS WEEK-- JULY 31 - AUGUST 5 THIS IS A WEEK FOR 7th--12th GRADERS WHO WANT TO SPEND TIME WITH HORSES AND WILDERNESS. WE WILL BE SPENDING TIME OUT IN THE WILDERNESS, WHICH INCLUDES COOKING AND MANY OTHER EVENTS ASSOCIATED WITH BEING ON THE TRAIL. YOU WILL BE SLEEPING IN TENTS AND WILL BE SPENDING MOST OF THE TIME ACROSS THE RIVER AT THE WILDERNESS CAMPGROUND.
