West Valley Middle School's Summer Camp includes academic camps, enrichment programs, basketball camps and daily field trips to fill the long summer days with learning and fun for students ages 10-14. Our program includes extended care allowing for children to arrive as early as 6:30am and leave as late as 6pm. Our academic camp program includes daily PE and thematic project-based curriculum which emphasize problem solving and critical thinking skills while also reinforcing grade level standards. Our daily enrichment programs cover a variety of topics including Theatre Arts, Jewelry Making, Painting and Drawing, Checkers and Chess, Cooking, Lego Robotics, Movie Making, Guitar, Crafts, and Grammar Boot Camp. Basketball Camp is coached by retired Cal Berkeley Bears and Japanese Basketball League player, Al Grigsby. Students will learn passing, shooting and dribbling skills and the value of teamwork. Fieldtrips are daily and include places such as San Jose Art Museum, local Universities, Santa Clara Swim Center, the beach, Pier 39, the Tech Museum, or the mall. Students can choose to stay at school rather than go on fieldtrips. Join WVMS for a fun-filled action-packed summer!
