C'mon, Admit It: You Need a Tech Makeover!
August 29, 2008
How did they know?!
Do you know someone who clings to her Filofax like Linus to his blanket? Someone who still considers that computer from 1997 that fills practically an entire room "brand new?" Someone who is great at emailing old friends across the country to vent about her latest foibles as a parent, but still carries a cell phone the size of a brick and can't find that scribbled grocery list anywhere? Is your
best friend the only person you know who still listens to cassettes on a boom
box or watches movies on a Betamax?
And ouch, admit it: your cryptic system of emailing yourself little snippets of stories and lists and pictures doesn't exactly amount to what you'd envisioned as a proper baby book for your little darling.
Do you need a tech makeover? Do you know someone else who needs one?
Ta-da!! Intel to the rescue!!
Intel invites our own wonderful Being Savvy readers to submit your story or nominate someone you love for a chance to win a $5000 tech makeover and training from the experts at Hot Hardware!
To enter, register here and upload photos or video of the tech travesty in your life. Tell Intel:
- What do you (or the nominee) want to be able to do with technology that you can't do now?
- Where do you want to be able to use your computer, and why?
- Why do you want to take your personal technology to the next level?
Entries will be voted on by the community (including you!), and considered by Intel's ceWebrity judges:
Our very own Stacey Boyd of The Savvy Source
Maggie Mason of Mighty Girl, Mighty Haus, Mighty Goods, and Mighty Jr.
Liz Gumbinner of CoolMomPicks
Natalie Zee Drieu of Craftzine
And the program's resident tech experts, David Altavilla and Marco Chiappetta from HotHardware
Entries must be submitted by September 8th, and the winners will be announced by Intel in early October.
It's time (reluctantly or otherwise!) to join the twenty-first century, and Intel wants to help make it happen. Tell your tech makeover story today!
