Crayon Games
Kids Activity for 2-6 year olds

7 vote(s)

While out and about, I always keep a bag of crayons in my purse for those moments in the day when like it or not, my kids are just forced to wait. When they tire of drawing and coloring pictures, we play crayon games (this is especially good for restaurants). Take a handful of used crayons of various sizes and spread them on a table. If your child is in the pre-counting phase, ask them to arrange the crayons from smallest to largest, then reverse the order. Next, have your child organize the crayons by color, then within each color group ask them to line the crayons up smallest to largest and vice versa. A more interesting challenge for older kids is to draw a line on a piece of paper and ask them to guess the fewest number of crayons (of any size they choose)that will equal the length of the line when the crayons are laid end to end. Then have them actually line up the crayons and see how close they came to the right answer.

Materials Needed: Crayons, paper - optional

Great idea for all kids elementary school age and younger! Can be played any place that kids need to be kept occupied, such as a Dr.'s office as well.
