Milk Carton Bird Feeder
Kids Activity for 3-6 year olds

Cut out a long window on the side of an empty juice or milk carton (the side opposite from the pour nozzle). Paint the carton brown all over and leave it to dry. Once the first coat of brown is dry, add long streaks of dark brown and white, and small brown knots to make your bird feeder look like the bark on a tree. One the "bark" is dry, paint a few leaves around the sides in light green. Once all of the paint has dried, add a few handfuls of bird seed inside the long window that you cut. Then, punch a hole through the top of the milk carton, thread wire through the hole, and twist ends the ends of the wire together. Your bird feeder is now ready! Hang the feeder outside a window so that your kids can watch the birds enjoying their new treat.

Materials Needed: Empty, rinsed out juice or milk carton; scissors; acrylic paints: dark brown, light brown, black, white, green; paintbrush; birdseed; and wire
