Shoe Box Cars
ages 4-6
Supplies
Shoe box, paint, markers and/or crayons, bottle caps or milk jug lids, construction paper, string
Activity Detail
Shoe boxes can be the perfect vehicle to jump start your child's imagination! Find a cardboard shoe box, and let your child decorate it with paints, construction paper, crayons and markers. Add headlights by gluing on two plastic milk jug lids or bottle caps, and make wheels out of construction paper circles (attach to the sides of the box so the box remains flat on the ground). Poke a hole in one of the short sides, and add a string about 3 feet long so your child can pull his creation through the house or around the block. You can even create a convertible that is just perfect for stuffed animals and action figures - simply take off the lid!

Fun way for my kids to "build" a car and then use it!
